Analysis of the borrowers' financial performance data is the key part of the commercial credit process within any bank, for which credit organizations around the world rely upon specialized financial analysis software (a.k.a. spreading software). The most widely used financial analysis packages are MFA by Moody's KMV, as well as its predecessors FAMAS and FAST. Another popular solution is offered by Baker Hill.
These products are feature-rich, user-friendly and, most important, very familiar to the banks, as they have been in use for years. However, these products also share an important common limitation: they were designed as purely desktop applications and the financial statements they produce are only available in the form of human-, but not machine-readable output reports (usually Word documents). As a result, the precious historical borrower financials data that banks have collected over the last 5-10 years is usually scattered across thousands of Word documents (a.k.a. spreads) on users' "C drives" and email folders. This data is not structured or minable and, therefore, virtually useless from the viewpoint of credit portfolio analysis and MIS reporting.
Avantek's Financial Data Integration (FDI) solution allows a bank to unlock the analytical value of borrowers' financial performance data that has been accumulated throughout the bank's history.
